Humanitarian Awards Nominations 2021

Celebration

This year marks our fourth presentation of The Humanitarian Awards since 2015. These awards have allowed us to recognize the good work local people and organizations have done to create a better community in Western North Carolina. We are asking you to take part in this venture in one or two ways: 1. who you believe has promoted the values of equity and fairness in working for others, or 2. .

If you know someone who is a resident of Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Macon, Jackson, or Swain Counties, or an organization based in these counties, that you believe exhibits the traits of a true humanitarian, and submit a letter explaining why the candidate or organization should be recognized. Nominations are free, though if your candidate is a finalist, we ask that you and your nominee attend the awards ceremony at 2-4 PM, on November 6, 2021, in the Asbury Room of First United Methodist Church (77 Jackson Street), in Sylva. Nominations can be scanned and sent by email or mailed, but they must arrive or be postmarked on or before October 15, 2021.

The second way you can support the Humanitarian Awards is by . There are four levels of sponsorships, as specified in the second form. All sponsors will be listed in our awards ceremony program. You can also take out an ad which will appear in the program. The ads range in size from 5½ x 8½ for a full page, to a business card size. You can provide your own business card or ad copy when you place your order, or you can request an ad from our design team. All copy will be approved by you prior to printing. All ads and sponsorships are due by October 15, 2021.

The Freedom Fund Committee is very excited about the Humanitarian Awards this year, especially because we know that many individuals or organizations in our Western Carolina region have made the pandemic easier to bear. We hope that you will join us in celebrating their achievements.

Thank you very much for your support of the Jackson County NAACP.
