March for Voting Rights in Franklin
On March 15, a group of community activists and organizations joined together for a symbolic and commemorative march to honor those fallen for our right to vote, and to call for an end to the state’s current efforts to limit our right to vote. We are proud to have had a number of Jackson County NC NAACP members marching in solidarity behind the branch banner. Other sponsors and supporters included The Human Relations Council of Macon County, The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Franklin, and Franklin Mayor Bob Scott. Noted speakers included Dan Kowal, Enrique Gomez, Selma Sparks, and Bill Crawford.
