A sophisticated and elegant event, the first annual Jackson County Branch of the NAACP Humanitarian Awards: Hats Off! A Time to Celebrate Greatness, will take place on Sunday, September 27, 2015 in Dillsboro, North Carolina at the Best Western Plus River Escape Inn & Suites.
This event of celebration and recognition will honor individuals and groups of Western North Carolina who have made significant contributions in their local communities. The event is designed to celebrate both young and seasoned humanitarians as well as raise awareness and inspire others to make a change in their world.
The Awards Ceremony will include heart-warming tributes to all nominees, awards, testimonials, and a guest speaker. A Reception, following the Awards Ceremony, will showcase the nominees, and allow for social networking. A silent auction, vendors, music and entertainment are certain to please the diverse crowd in attendance.
The Jackson County Branch is new (having been chartered in March 2014) and this Humanitarian Awards Event serves as our first and largest fundraising event. Proceeds from the event will go into our operating budget for 2016. Your support will help the Jackson County NAACP in the fight for social justice. It will help us better serve the Western North Carolina community.
The Commemorative Tribute Book has advertisement space from full-page to business card sizes available.
The Jackson County Branch of the NAACP received its charter in March of 2014 and is proud to be a unit of the National NAACP. Founded in 1909, the NAACP is the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization. From the ballot box to the classroom, the thousands of dedicated workers, organizers, leaders and members who make up the NAACP continue to fight for social justice for all Americans.
