Are You Ready for the New NC Voter ID Law?
The rules have changed for 2016.
May 29: Voter ID Forum – Find out what you need to know about the new photo ID requirements for voting in North Carolina.
June 11: NC State Board of Elections Public Hearing – Tell the State Board of Elections what you think about the regulations they have proposed.
On June 11, the NC Board of Elections will hold a public hearing in Sylva–one of only nine public hearings across the state–to discuss proposed regulations for the use of photo ID when citizens vote in person at the polls in 2016.
To help North Carolina voters prepare for this important hearing and for upcoming elections, the Jackson County NC NAACP is offering a free public forum and information session:

- Getting Ready for the June 11 Hearing
- Thoughts from the Jackson County Board of Elections

- A live webcast of the event
- Free pizza and drinks will follow the 90 minute program.

Voters unable to attend the June 11 Public Hearing can send comments to the State Board of Elections by e-mail: rules@ncsbe.gov or by mail: P.O. Box 27255, Raleigh, NC 27611-7255 to the attention of Rule-making Coordinator George McCue. Comments on the new Voter ID rules will be accepted until Tuesday, June 30, 2015.
