Members of the Jackson County NAACP will share a Black History Readers’ Theater program following the October General Membership Meeting, which is being held in Macon County at St. Cyprian’s Chapel of Franklin (see map below). Consisting of four segments which address African American experiences and contributions throughout the history of the US, the program includes illustrations of African beginnings in the New World; the First Reconstruction and its aftermath; the Second Reconstruction and the Civil Rights Movement; and the Third Reconstruction for a hopeful future.
