Afterwards the Membership Committee will continue “piloting” segments of its “Orientation package.” Between two presentations, lunch will be brought in.
At 11:00 am, Dr. Penelope Smith’s presentation will cover the Accomplishments of the NAACP since its 1909 inception until today.
At 1:00 pm, Dr. Elizabeth Gillespie McRae will speak about the country’s social, political and judicial climate–from after the Civil War– until the founding of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
The programs are open to the public. Everyone is encouraged not only to come and learn, but to ask questions and give feedback to the presenters afterwards.
